Watch Him Dig

Writer's picture: Andy RossAndy Ross

A mystic and her apprentice sat and watched a scientist dig.

The scientist bore through molecules, atoms, subatomic particles, quarks - deeper and deeper he dug.

The apprentice turned to his master. "Should we tell him that we know what he's looking for?"

She smiled, "No, let him dig."

The apprentice seemed confused. "But, why?"

"You see, young one, we must all find what we are looking for in our own way. It would be folly to tell this man what we have found. He must find it for himself."

They stood and began walking away.

"But, what if he never finds it?" the apprentice asked.

"He already has, my love."
