The Spring Just Gives

"Master, does God intervene in our lives?"

"No, my child."

"But, how could this be true?"

"How could it not be true?"

"I don't understand, Master."

"Let's say that you were dying of thirst. But, then you came upon a fresh water spring. What would you do?"

"I would drink from the spring, of course."

"Would you have been saved from death?"

"Oh, yes, Master."

"So, did the spring intervene?"

"No. It is not in the nature of a spring to intervene."

"What is it in the nature of a spring to do?"

"It is in the nature of a spring to pour forth water."

"And, so it is with God, my child."
